BACK TO SCHOOL!

Mwangaza school opened its doors for a new semester on the 9th of January. New pupils are coming every day and all teachers and students are full of energy and positivity to keep on progressing in learning.

New volunteer Rowan came from England to help us to develop better art methods and to teach English. Next week we are going to start setting up a tree nursery with the Mwangaza youth group. Trees are very important for our environment bringing us shelter, food, medicine, oxygen etc and they keep our soil healthy protecting it from erosion and clean the air from pollution.

Mwangaza group is setting its targets for the new year:

1. Well furnished building with qualified teachers. Targetting to hire a cook and raise funds for food at school to provide children with right nutrition
2. Improved physical education to manufacture physically healthy pupils who have energy to study and their brain is woken up with oxygen.
3. Improved arts education to manufacture innovative and creative pupils
4. Opening a class for secondary school to provide quality education for older students.
5. Establishing a proper tree nursery and planting 500 trees in the community.
6. Establishing a workshop for Mercy Aged Women Group

Mwangaza Community Development Group wishes you a prosperous new year 2012!!!
